The Pivot to Accent Hockey

Partway through, we made the call to rename the brand to Accent Hockey — the name we build under today. It gave us the chance to build the identity around what we'd actually learned: that this is about accenting your game, not overhauling your wallet to do it.

The Actifly Launches

We launched the Actifly in August 2025. Like most first products, it didn't go perfectly according to plan — we hit real early hurdles getting inventory and logistics dialed in. But the stick itself held up, and it gave us the proof we needed that this was worth building further.

Building the First Stick

With a manufacturer chosen, we went to work on our first product: a low kick point stick built for a quick release. Every spec — weight, flex, shaft shape — went through rounds of testing before we were ready to put our name on it.

Finding the Right Manufacturer

Building a stick from scratch means finding the right hands to build it. We spent about a year evaluating manufacturers, narrowed a long list down to three finalists, then had demo sticks built from each before making the call on who we'd build with.

Where It Started

Accent Hockey started the way most real hockey gear ideas start: on the bench, frustrated with what elite sticks cost. We'd grown up playing the game, and we knew a good stick shouldn't be out of reach just because of price. In 2024, we started looking into what it would actually take to build one ourselves.
